Cross laminated timber - a longstanding success story

Since its introduction more than 20 years ago, cross laminated timber (CLT) has developed into a very popular building material, as the significantly increased production quantities show.

While an estimated 100,000 m³ was still produced in Europe in 2007, by the end of 2020 it will already be more than 1.5 million m³. The significant worldwide increase in demand for these products led to further new production facilities in the USA, Canada, Japan and Australia.

Oest has been a supplier of high-quality adhesive application equipment from the very beginning and has decisively influenced the current state of the art in terms of adhesive application. Since the beginning Oest has been able to equip more than 70 cross laminated timber plants. This corresponds to about 90% of all industrial CLT productions worldwide.
