Sustainability in the centre of interest

Alongside our commitment to quality, progress and the greatest possible customer benefit, Oest considers environmental, social and economic aspects in its corporate development. The focus is on concrete measures – from the responsible use of raw materials and energy to the further development of our product portfolio and the company’s long-term direction.

These measures include special fuels, selected lubricants containing bio-based components, and packaging that – depending on the product and design – incorporates recycled plastic. We provide product-specific information on properties, raw material content and packaging. Oest also participates in wind power projects in Dübrichen-Prießen, Haiger-Dillbrecht and Singen, which generate electricity from wind energy.

As a supporting member, Oest also supports the Green Mobility Future initiative. The independent institute focuses on future mobility topics, including e-fuels, biogenic fuels, renewable energy and the bioeconomy. E-fuels can be produced using electrical energy, water and captured CO₂. Their environmental impact depends in particular on the energy used, the source of the CO₂, the production processes and the respective application. Subject to technical specifications and approvals, they can be blended with fossil fuels and heating fuels or used as pure fuels.

Oest is a member of the United Nations Global Compact. Participating companies align their activities with ten principles covering human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. The membership reflects our fundamental direction and commitment; it does not constitute certification of the company or individual products.
